About Us

Project RedBox is a newly founded organisation working with communities in Myanmar. Our mission is to empower, equip and sustainably assist in developing education, health and employment through social enterprise and investment.

Our vision is to see every family to be able to support themselves and contribute to their communities through employment, education or enterprise. We are working with different communities on unique projects that will create a positive social impact and help them on the journey to becoming self sustainable.

We are a start up organisation and are working with a number of individuals within various communities throughout Myanmar. Our approach ensures we tailor each project or service to meet the needs of the beneficiary first and foremost.

Where we work

Our first projects are working with a handful of communities in Yangon and Mandalay. We work with the local partners and have a mandate lead by the initiatives and ideas that come from the beneficiaries themselves. They know far more about their country than we do and so we are guided and steered by their needs and suggestions regarding the best way to invest, develop and grow.

What we aim to deliver

There are three main ways we are working to support communities in Myanmar:

  • Working with women social entrepreneurs who require a loan to start a small business or service. We have supported a local nurse with a grant to start a clinic in her town. We've also been approached to support the start up of a sewing business to employ 4 local women and are exploring how we can help to start this in early 2020.

  • Establishing homes for orphaned and abandoned children. We've started two homes in Yangon and Mandalay, and we run these as family units with a a parent/s providing the stability, safety and love these children desperately need. We are working to ensure they have the best possible opportunities and will be starting English and computer (programming) lessons.

  •  Lastly, we are looking to work with young change makers aged 18-30, running a programmes for them to receive the skills, knowledge and support to start projects and enterprises to have a positive impact on their communities. We working to establish partnerships with local partners to ensure a fully embedded and sustainable approach.
